Kingsley B. Jones

(e-portfolio)

My name is Kingsley Bernard Jones. I have 30 years of experience as a community organizer, activist, teacher, mentor, coach, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and television/radio talk show personality.  My community outreach efforts have been facilitated through the Economic Research Institute for Behavioral Change and innovative cutting-edge concepts such as the Curing the Poverty Disease campaign and The Men’s Huddle™.

The Economic Research Institute for Behavioral Change (ERIFBC) is a national think tank, research and action institute advancing economic and social equity through the Curing the Poverty Disease campaign.  Founded in 1989, ERIFBC has become a leading voice in the movement to improve access and opportunity for all low-income people and communities of color, particularly in the areas of health, education, and infrastructure.  Through servant leadership,  I connect the work of social entrepreneurs to communities of opportunity that allows everyone to participate and prosper.

The Curing the Poverty Disease campaign is based on the concept that poverty is not a disease of the pocketbook; it is a disease of the mind and of the spirit.  I have created a comprehensive step-care therapy approach that concentrates on disease prevention, disease management, and disease elimination.

The Men’s Huddle™ is a cross-section of professional and non-professional men working together as servant leaders to address issues impacting their communities.  Led by passion to bridge the growing economic divide, I have designed and developed programs to effectively improve the life of young men through the  M3 (Mind-Matter-Market) Program, Random Acts of Kindness (RAC) Initiative, Cognitive Nutritional Science Series, and job preparedness training curriculum.

I presently serve on several boards including The Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program, NAACP - Community Economic Development Director (Compton Chapter), Los Angeles Adventist Academy - Director of Marketing and Communications.  As a leading voice in the movement for equity in America, I have been a frequent commentator for some of the nation’s top news and television programs.  I have previously appeared on such shows as public radio’s “Marketplace”, “LIBradio”, “National Public Radio”, “Inner Light Radio”, The Larry Elders TV Show”, “Fox News", etc.
